Dr. Piana’s Story

Originally from Long Island, I journeyed to beautiful Davenport, Iowa at a young age where I became intrigued with nature and the fantastic people of Iowa. Having been more of a city boy, there was a transitional period to acclimate to the more subdued Iowa culture. I found it an excellent place to focus on my studies compared to other options. I developed friendships that have so far lasted a lifetime both on and off the rugby field.

Palmer Rugby found me and taught me many more things than just the game. It helped me both mentally and academically to share experiences with fellow teammates and compete competitively in athletics. This was a welcomed diversion from the rigors of the first year of school. Palmer Rugby showed me the promise of the future through the frequent experiences that I shared with Palmer Rugby alumni who frequently visited and took interest in our success.

After graduating at the age of 24 and opening my own practice in Connecticut, I quickly became the Rugby Alumni President where I served for 10 years. This enabled me to be able to give back in return for the invaluable experiences that I had while playing rugby and becoming the best chiropractor possible. My two sons, Palmer and Pierce, have joined the ranks in both Palmer rugby and in becoming the best chiropractor possible. I have referred more than 25 students to Palmer over the years that have flourished into leaders in the profession.

After 30 years in practice in Connecticut I now operate a small home office overlooking the ocean and volcanos in rural Alaska. I continue to change lives through chiropractic care one patient at a time. I am always available to discuss my knowledge with anyone interested in Palmer. My email is drpianame.com.
