Congratulations to Roger Hynes, D.C. D.Ph.C.S., on being named 2020 Outstanding Faculty of the Year for Palmer College.

Dr. Hynes is now a three-time Faculty of the Year recipient, also earning the award in 2008 and 2017. He graduated from Palmer College in 1998 and has taught in the Technique department for over 20 years. He additionally earned a Diplomate in Philosophical Chiropractic Standards (D.Ph.Cs.).

Dr. Hynes is the Director of the Palmer Foundation for Chiropractic History and is the Executive Director of the Association for the History of Chiropractic.

He has more publications accepted or in-review during this award period than many faculty have in totality. Yet, he spends considerably more time helping others produce their scholarly work than producing his own. He finds sources, runs down references, and essentially rewrites papers for authors. He is rarely acknowledged for his efforts but doesn’t seem to mind. He recently edited a book written in French. He is currently writing three books of his own.

Dr. Hynes manages all permanent, rotating and temporary history exhibits, is the Executive Director of the Association for the History of Chiropractic and serves on a number of internal committees.

Dr. Hynes lives by the adage ‘The difficult can be done right away. The impossible will take me a little longer,’ which is evident in his unwavering commitment to the chiropractic profession.
