A message from Dennis Marchiori, D.C., Ph.D., Chancellor and CEO of Palmer College of Chiropractic.

To the Palmer Community:

The senseless death of George Floyd provides yet another example of injustice perpetrated on a person of color. These injustices challenge our universal faith in the people we trust, and our progress as a country to embody the ideals we profess. Racism, hatred and violence are intolerable.

Amidst the anger and frustration of national unrest, I urge all within our Palmer Community, a community of learners and healers, to rededicate our personal commitment to see everyone as a true partner and an equal, deserving of our fellowship, support and assistance.

At Palmer, students enter to learn how and go forth to serve. The Palmer community collectively strives to represent the principles of inclusion, respect, kindness, and collaboration on our campuses and in our civic communities.

I’ve heard from many members of the Palmer community. Our students, faculty and staff are hurting. The mental and emotional well-being of each of us, impacts all of us. We recognize our pain and come together in support of one another. Resources for students can be found online, and faculty and staff are encouraged to access EAP resources through the Human Resources portal on Palmer’s SharePoint.

Our efforts are not ending with this note. Continued conversations are planned and essential to move us forward together.

Sincerely,

Dennis Marchiori, D.C., Ph.D.
Chancellor and CEO
